Gioia is meant to strike the perfect balance between playful and elegant. The center acrylic light diffuser is a classic shape that is reminiscent of George Nelson’s iconic Saucer Pendant. We set out to breathe new life into an iconic shape that could fit seamlessly with a variety of different aesthetics. This is achieved by giving form to function with the use of a rigid lamp cord. The cord forms a floral pattern that creates an intriguing contrast, as if it was sketched around the light.
